This is a picture of me and our tourguide
Allan Wright posing in the Dutch countryside.
Allegedly, cows didn't really care if
you were a pedestrian or a cyclist,
but they liked to stare at you if
you were on skates. I found that
to be amusing.
Though I am calmly walking over this
obstacle, I had a wicked encounter
with the first one I found. I was
not looking when I met it, going
too fast to stop and too slowly to
jump it. I discovered the value of
wristguards that day. The woman to
my left was a member of the tour.
Her husband took the picture.
I am skating through a typical Frisian
town. That is the Frisian flag emblazoned
on my shirt. I thought this scene was
neat because of the shutters on the
house behind me.
This was the flower auction in Alsmeer.
Flowers sold around the world are distributed
here. I was awed by the size of this
warehouse. Remember the final scene from
Raiders of the Lost Ark with all
those crates? This looked like that.
Would you like to go for a skate?
