The Ceremony

The wedding ceremony will begin at 4:00pm at the Cliff House in Bear Mountain State Park.  Light refreshments will be served beforehand as everyone arrives and takes their seats.

We are still in the early stages of planning what will take place during the actual ceremony.  (It seems like there are a lot of other things we need to take care of first!)  Our hope is to combine several traditions to make a ceremony that is personal to us and respectful of the importance of the day but not overly formal (or overly dull).  These traditions may include Jewish, Austrian, Irish, German, Dutch, Hungarian and pseudo-Quaker.  (Results may vary.)  So far, we are fairly certain that songs, readings, a ceremonial chuppah, and the breaking of a glass will be featured.

Also, we would like to include a period of silent contemplation during which we invite you to rise and share with us a memory, story, reading, poem or other remarks (prepared or unprepared), as the spirit moves you to do so.  We would be honored if you would participate in the ceremony in this way.

The Reception

The reception will begin with a Cocktail Hour with hors d'oeuvres at 5:00 pm at the Overlook Lodge, which is directly up the hill from the Cliff House.  (You can walk there, or there is parking at both buildings for those of you who drive.)

The Cocktail Hour will then be followed by a sit-down dinner with the following entree options:

We will ask you to indicate which entree you would prefer when you RSVP to the formal invitation.  At that time, please let us know if you would prefer a vegetarian option or have other dietary restrictions we should know about, because the caterers have indicated that they are happy to make accommodations.

After dinner, it's dancing time!  We will have DJ's providing music for the remainder of the evening and we want to see everyone out there having a good time!  We can't wait to celebrate with everyone!
