How to Get There
The wedding will be at Bear Mountain State Park in Bear Mountain, NY. The ceremony is at The Cliff House, and the reception is at the Overlook Lodge, right up the hill from the ceremony. We have compiled the following information to help make your journey as smooth as possible. Click here for a separate page with maps that you can view on the screen or print out.
Update (2/25/2005): It has recently come to our attention that you can book flights to Newark Airport via Southwest Airlines' reservations (and fare) system, although the actual flights themselves are run by ATA Airlines. Thanks to Karen B. for pointing this out!
From Newark Airport: Take the Newark Liberty Airport Express bus (run by Olympia/Coach USA) to the Port Authority Bus Terminal, Grand Central Terminal or Penn Station ($12 one-way/$20 RT). From there follow other directions below. Alternatively, you can take the AirTrain (monorail) to the Airport’s train station and then take NJ Transit Northeast Corridor Line (NEC) or North Jersey Coastline (NJC) to New York Penn Station. (Buy NJ Transit ticket at airport terminal for $11.55, includes AirTrain.) From there, follow directions below from Penn Station.
From JFK Airport: Take the New York Airport Express bus to either the Port Authority Bus Terminal or Grand Central Station (fare $13) and from there follow directions below. Alternatively, take AirTrain (monorail) to Sutphin Blvd/Jamaica Station, and then take the E subway to New York Penn Station. (Buy a Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard at airport ($7 value) to cover AirTrain + subway.) From there follow directions from Penn Station.
From Grand Central Station: Take the MTA Metro-North Railroad Hudson Line to Peekskill ($8.25 off-peak/ $11.00 peak if you buy from a ticket machine or vendor at the station; it costs more if you buy it on the train).
From NY Penn Station: Take the NYC Subway to Grand Central Station (take 1 2 3 or 9 Northbound one stop to W 42nd St/Times Square, then take S to Grand Central) ($2 fare). Then take MTA Metro-North Railroad Hudson Line to Peekskill ($8.25 off-peak/ $11.00 peak if you buy from a ticket machine or vendor at the station; it costs more if you buy it on the train).
From NY Port Authority Bus Terminal
(41st & 8th Ave): A Shortline/CoachUSA bus makes five round-trips
per day directly to Bear Mountain State Park ($12.15 one-way). See

for schedule. Note that the last bus departs Bear Mountain at 5:19pm,
so this is a better option for getting to the park than it is for getting
back to NYC if you are not staying overnight.
Option #2: (SORRY!
I had this screwed up before, but it is fixed now! You cannot take
the bus directly from Grand Central to the Palisades Mall; first, you have
to take a train to Tarrytown.) Use the directions in the
previous section ("Public Transportation to Peekskill NY") to get to Grand
Central Terminal in NYC. From there, take the MTA
Metro-North Railroad Hudson Line as if you were going to Peekskill,
but get off at "Tarrytown" instead! (This will be a 40-minute train trip;
buy your ticket at the station ($9.75 one-way vs. $15 if you buy it on
the train.) From Tarrytown, take the Tappan
ZEExpress bus (TZX-1, $1.50 one-way fare, approximately 40 minute trip)
which stops at the Palisades Center Mall, where Dave & Buster's is
located on the 4th level.
From the Palisades Parkway: Take Palisades Pkwy North to the end (go past exit 19 labeled “Bear Mountain”), then take first right off the circle (9W South). The Overlook Lodge and Cliff House are the 1st immediate right once you leave the circle (Hessian Drive).
From Northern Connecticut: Take I-84 West to the Beacon Bridge, take Newburgh exit, follow 9W South about 30 minutes to the traffic circle that intersects with 202 and the Palisades Parkway. Take the 9W South exit (2nd exit) off that circle. The Overlook Lodge and Cliff House are the first immediate right once you leave the circle (Hessian Drive).
From Southern Connecticut: Take I-95 South to 287 West, then over Tappan Zee Bridge to exit 13N (Palisades Pkwy North). Follow above directions “From the Palisades Parkway.”
From Newark International Airport: Two options: (#1) Take I-78 East to the NJ Turnpike North (I-95, toll road). Get off the NJ Turnpike/I-95 North at exit 72, and follow signs for Palisades Parkway North. (You will turn left at the light at the end of the exit ramp, go straight through a few more traffic lights and the entrance ramp to the Palisades Parkway will be on your right, marked by brown-and-white "Palisades Parkway" signs that are a little hard to read. In any case, do not miss exit 72 or you will go over the George Washington Bridge into New York City!) From there, follow above directions “From the Palisades Parkway.” Or (#2), take I-78 West to the Garden State Parkway North (toll road), and take the Garden State Parkway to the last exit (I-87/I-287). Bear right for I-87 east/south toward Tappan Zee Bridge. Take I-87 to exit 13N (Palisades Parkway North). Follow above directions "From the Palisades Parkway."
From New Jersey or Pennsylvania, or points south: Take the NJ Turnpike (I-95, toll road) North to the Garden State Parkway North (toll road) to the last exit (I-87/287, New York State Thruway). Bear right for I-87 east/south toward Tappan Zee Bridge. Take I-87 to exit 13N (Palisades Parkway North). Follow above directions “From the Palisades Parkway.”
From New York City: Take the George Washington Bridge to the Palisades Parkway North. Follow above directions "From the Palisades Parkway."
From Boston: Take the Mass
Pike (Route 90) West to Sturbridge Exit, then take Route 84 West.
Follow directions “From Northern Connecticut.”
