Some History MCPC Games was born back in the early 90’s as a resource for fans of more “thinking” styles of computer and video games—puzzles, adventures, role-playing, and strategy games. Initially targeted at the general public, who didn’t have high-bandwidth internet connections, a graphics-lite format was born focusing on content over splashy graphics. Around 2000, the Internet had improved enough that the initial mission was no longer needed. Since that time, I have paired with many other gaming sites that share my core values, foremost being www.GamerDad.com with its family-friendly attidude towards gaming. My freelance work with GamerDad and Parents-Choice led to opportunities for coverage of boardgames alongside electronic entertainment, and I now write biweekly columns on board and card gaming for both GamingWithChildren and Boardgame News—a boardgame focused site. I continue to do freelance work for these and other web sites, game companies interested contacting me can use my contact information at the top of the page. For historical purposes, the original MCPC Games web site can still be accessed, but it is no longer updated. Many of the old reviews can be found in the archives of www.GamerDad.com. |
