WELCOME TO THE VIDEO POKER TRAINER VERSION 0.7 CONTENTS: 1.0 OVERVIEW 2.0 INSTALLATION 3.0 LICENSE INFORMATION -------------------------------- 1.0 OVERVIEW This program will train you to play video poker to the maximum advantage possible. The basic game is the same as the standard video poker found in casinos. Beyond just letting you practice, this program will advise you as to the best way to play each hand. This can be done before or after you play the hand yourself. This is a beta version. Although, it has been run through many tests, it does lack a few features that are planned for Version 1.0. Full documentation is available through on-line help Please send comments or bug reports to jnugent@alumni.caltech.edu (Internet) or [74435,1202] (CompuServe) -------------------------------- 2.0 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS AND INSTALLATION This program runs under Windows 3.1. The initial test system was 386DX/33-MHz with 8MB. It ran fine there with near- instantaneous response. Most likely any 386 with 4 MB will run with acceptable performance. Less than that is questionable. Standard VGA is sufficient. One limitation of this beta version is that Windows System Font must be a Small Font. The installation process for this version is rather manual. Basically, create a directory, change to it, and unzip the files in vpok070.zip to that directory. Here is the detailed procedure assuming that the destination directory is c:\vpok, the distribution file is on a:\, and current directory is on the C drive: mkdir c:\vpok cd \vpok a:unzip a:vpok070 The executable to run is vpok.exe. The program can be started simply by traversing to the c:\vpok directory in File Manager and double clicking on vpok.exe. Program groups and items in Program Manager may also be created. If you want to create a group, the following attributes are a suggestion: Description: Video Poker Trainer Group File: c:\windows\vpok.grp For vpok.exe, create an item with the following attributes. Description: Video Poker Trainer Command Line: vpok.exe Working Directory: c:\vpok You may also create an item for the help file. Description: Video Poker Trainer Help Command Line: winhelp vpok.hlp Working Directory: c:\vpok -------------------------------- 3.0 LICENSE INFORMATION This product is copyrighted by John J. Nugent.
