+91 @ The Commerce Casino

A memorable hand came up only about 15 minutes after I sat down. I was in early position, and was dealt A,K. I called and about 4 people came along. The flop came J,Q,10 rainbow. The nut straight was pretty exciting, but I wasn't sure how best to keep everyone along. I bet and was called. The turn showed a blank, so I took a chance and checked. There was a bet, and I raised. The person to my left asked "So let me get this straight...you checked then raised?" I confirmed this and he called, as
did the person who originally bet. The river showed a 9. Perfect. I didn't think I would get away with another check raise so I bet. There was one caller (the guy who questioned what I did), and he turned over just the king. Ka-ching!

0 @ Conniefest

The first day of ConnieFest included a night of tournament style hold-em, and I played in a total of five games. The buy in for each game was $10, and I took first place in
one tournament. The official Tournament page gives more information about the night.

+28 @ Pechenga

I was taking Jennifer's old truck down to her Mom's house in Escondido, and the lack of air conditioning helped induce me to stop. The poker room at the Pechenga casino is pretty small with only a couple dozen tables, and on a Friday afternoon at 2:00 there were only a couple 3-6 tables. The players at my table were nearly all locals.

Nothing really remarkable happened the entire day. My flopped sixes lost to a straight draw, and my Q,10 of diamonds took the pot when, after getting A of diamonds, Q spades, and another diamond on the flop I made the flush on the river. And yes, the guy who went all in after the flop did have an ace and was annoyed to see me make the hand.

+10 @ Chez Johnson

My overall performance in this tournament wasn't as good as my July performance, but because I took a first place spot I came out ahead, albeit barely.
