Christmas 2006 @ the Commerce Casino

Over my holiday vacation I played a few sessions at the 100 no limit buy in, playing for about 20 hours and winding up about $150.

At a loose table I got QQ after just a couple minutes. I put in 15 more as the small blind and got 3 callers pre-flop. Rags came so I went all in and took it.

QQ again. I smooth called the 15 raise in front of me but someone behind me went all in for 23. I called and got nothing. He had an A which hit the turn.

A 10 with flop A 7 2. I was late position. A guy bet 20 and I re-raised to 60. He tossed.

KK in late position. It was made 15 and I called. Many callers behind me. Rags. She bet 20 and I went all in. Everyone else folded but she called with had JJ. I held up. Now holding over $400 after only 45 minutes.

KK again. Guy in front of me went all in for 50. I called. He had 55 but hit his set. D'oh! Some other mediocre plays (and some bad luck) drained my stack some.

In late position with QQ there was a $10 bet, a call and then a raise to $20 by a weak player.  I went all in only to run into the button who had AA  beind me! I lost 150 on that hand. Good thing he didn't have more. I left up only about $50.

In the next session my first had was AK suited. Someone made it 10 all in I called. He had q 10 and missed. I did too, but I took the pot.

The next hand was J7 as sb. I called. Flop JJ7! I checked the flop and the BB made it 5. One fold,I call. I checked the blank turn but he checked behind me. I then bet 10 on the blank river and he folded. What could I have done to get more money?

47 suited as small blind and 3 players. flop was 47a! With 2 clubs I took a chance and checked. Bet was 19. Call, I called. Turn was an a! Crap! The blinds checked and folded.

AK in middle position with a bet of 15 in front of me. I called, as did one other. Flop was j q 10 rainbow! Check, 20, I went all in and got one caller. The original better had a set of q.  Up 70.

AK suited. I made it 10. Guy raised to 26 all in. I called. He had pocket 10 and the  flop came AA7! A quick survey of the table confirmed that the case A was still alive. But we got a 4 on the turn then a 10 on the river. So not only did he make his miracle card to win the pot, we missed the jackpot. Damn.

Had two decent hands (two pair and top pair) and was betting into the nut straight twice in a row (the same guy!). But he had like 6 9 off suit and 10 7 off suit. I didn't put him on either.

Long slide for a while. I had some cards but they didn't hit. Down 170. Then with AA on the button a person made it 20. I called. Q 3 7 on the flop he bets 20 again. I go all in for 60 more and he calls. I win. Down 60 at 3 hours.

AK late I made it 10. Flop was ak6. It was bet 20 and I went all in. There were 2 behind me and I didn't want the flush draw to stick around. Then the next hand k6 suited late. I called. 2 more of my suit and I called the 10 bet. My flush hit on the turn. Bet was 15 and I put him all in for 30 more. He had 2 pair. Up 35.

77 mid. Big blind made it 15 to go. I call as does one other.  Get 876 with 2 spades. I made it 30 and get one caller. Damn didn't want the call. 8 on the turn and I get bet into. What? I put her all in for 50 more and she calls with her JJ. Send the money. Up 70.

78 suited late. I call the 10 raise. Q 78 with two diamonds. A fellow makes it 30 and I go all in. I get a caller behind me for 85. Original better folds. I hold up 130.

KK early. Smooth call hoping for action and I don't get it. Good thing too since the flop is A 4 4. d'oh!

AA early. I make it 15 and get one caller. Flop is 9 4 2 rainbow. I make it $25 and the caller goes all in for $60 more!?! This was at a new table and we hadn't played much so I have no idea he had. What could he call for $15 and then go all in on me? A9 didn't seem like a possibility, but I suppose it is possible. I didn't peg him for two pair (maybe 2 4 suited, but I doubt it), so I put him on pocket 4 or pocket 2. I mucked my cards, and he showed his K9. Damn. I got outplayed.

At my last session I had a long slide and was down nearly $200. I was able to claw my way back with some unremarkable play, and since I was tired of all the chips I asked the chip runner to bring me a couple white chips ($100s) for my big stack of yellows ($5). At this point I had nearly $300 in front of me and am in seat 1. I then get KK in late position. Bet is 15. I make it 30. Get one caller. QJ9 with two spades on the flop. Checked to me. I figure that I am still in the lead so I want to take the pot right now. I go all in and get a caller immediately. Wow, I really didn't want that. I turn up my cards and the dealer counts out my chips and says to the other guy $265. But the other player said that he didn't see the white chips and thought I only had 65.  Floorman!  The floorman said it was his responsibility to understand how much the bet was for.  To be fair, the white chips were on the far side from him (he was 8). I originally didn't want the call, but after he started arguing after my cards were up I knew I was ahead. The floorman made him put the chips in. The flush didn't hit, but the turn was a Q and the river was a J. So if he had either a Q or a J I was dead. However, he had A9 spades (bottom pair and nut flush draw) so I took the hand. Wow! I had him covered so I have nearly $600 in front of me for a total of nearly $300 ahead.

I played for a while longer and lost three pots where I had put in $40-$50 so I decided to go home.
