Laura Fitton (CT90) writes: i may be the 8 millionth one to tell you this, but nysc is in a wild marrying mood this summer, and all 4 weddings that i've heard of implicate 1990. must have been something in the air that year? or are we just getting old...? Darrin Magee (LA90 & staph) just wed Beth Kinne (VA91 & staph) over the weekend in vermont -- the amazing nysc attendance rates the nickname "reunion 99 - east". Cynthia Hayward (GA90 & staph) married Scott Stepenuck (?? 92 & staph). Katherine Hannon (IL90 & staph) is about to wed Elijah Goodwin (MA91 & staph) this coming weekend. Paul Miller (WY87, staph 90, etc. & current director) married Betsy Hutchinson (director 88-90) last weekend!

Eric Mortenson (WI90) writes: I graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a BS in mathematics and physics. Now I'm in Texas going to UT-Austin for grad school in math. In my spare time I play trumpet in one of Austin's local pop/punk bands. The band is kind of fun--we've even done SXSW the last few times and even put out a cd or two.

Darrin Magee (LA90) writes: I went to UW Seattle for my MA. I've been on staph since 1991 in the art shack ... now I'm back in Louisiana and just finished teaching at a public, residential high school for gifted kids. I was once a student here (when I was gifted), as was Angela Amin (LA90), and this past year they let me come back to teach some computer stuff (GIS, CAD) and Chinese. Loads of fun. Now my fiancee, Beth Kinne (VT91) and I are planning the Youth Science Camp of the Americas! We (NYSF) applied for a $100K planning grant from the US Information Agency and got it, so now we're digging for half a million to get the YSCA up and running next year. Instead of two students from each state, it would have one from each state, along with two from Canada and each country in Latin America. Beth and I will be in Vancouver, BC (where she'll be going to grad school) as of Sept. 1.
