So, as I said before, I had two majors at Caltech. To get the literature major , I wrote a senior thesis on the novels of Jane Austen with the help and support of Dr. Kevin Gilmartin. Dr. Cindy Weinstein served as my literature advisor, and she definately deserves some mention here. My chemistry advisor, Dr. Jack Beauchamp was good enough as a Caltech student to make it back to Caltech as a professor. As an undergrad, I did research for Dr. John Baldeschwieler. Among the many things that I learned from John was that sometimes it's okay to address your professors by their first names. As far as helping me towards a teaching career, no other faculty member has been as supportive, friendly, and helpful as Dr. Deborah Exton. Deb's teaching skills and her commitment to education deserve more recognition than I could ever get for them here! Aside from these faculty members that I have had the chance to make a personal bond with, there are many others who win my award for academic excellence which is such a prize that it gets them a link on my web page. (I'm sure that they are honored...)
