Optical Design for Laser Isotope Separation (AVLIS) Description: Dept. of Energy facility at Lawrence Livermore for separating uranium isotopes for nuclear power plants. High-powered copper and dye lasers are used to selectively ionize the fissionable isotopes. My Role: Consulting and optical engineering support.
