
The AirBlimp Project was
a dream given form. It was late in the fall of 1995 when six seniors at the
California Institue of Technology decide that life at Caltech could use a bit
more spice. This ragtag group was never shy to attempt the odd prank here or
there to add a little variety to their lives, but this current yearning for
entertainment could not be appeased by something so short lived as a prank.
Their thoughts turned to the idea of creating a legacy for themselves, and
they were certainly not opposed to getting school credit and money for it at
the same time. One of the members of this fine group discovered a little
known course at Caltech entitled simply, "Projects in Flight Control", and
those words formed the seeds of an idea which became a
proposal that, through much hard work,
