I have so many thoughts to express on the cowardly acts perpetrated on these United States that I do not know where to begin. I have decided to take a bit more time and get it right, but in the meantime, I believe that the following quotes sum up my overall philosophy very well. So for now, they will suffice.
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
– John Stewart Mill
"The world is a dangerous place. Not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it."
– Albert Einstein
"We make war that we may live in peace."
– Aristotle
"We are sure of our victory against the Americans and the Jews as promised by the Prophet: Judgment day shall not come until the Muslim fights the Jew, where the Jew will hide behind trees and stones, and the tree and the stone will speak and say, 'Muslim, behind me is a Jew. Come and kill him.'"
– Osama bin Laden (May 1998)
"We are coming after you. God may have mercy on you, but we won't."
– John McCain, United States Senator 14.9.2001
Hey Folks, you're gonna love this. I just received an email from someone called "Wolfpack" which contained what appears to be an article from a typical Green propoganda rag. The majority of it was a nearly verbatim copy of the drivel about Stossel posted on the EWG website, but the last paragraph was just so hilarious that I had to put it up here for all to see:
We need thoughtful discussion on all issues, especially environmental issues. Yet, it is an ominous harbinger when powerful interests who fear the enlightenment that environmental education provides can control a one-sided televised dialogue, and when the truth can so easily be left as scraps of tape on the editing floor of Stossel's cohorts.
This is so reminiscent of George Orwell's 1984 that I can't stand it. It actually says "the enlightenment that environmental education provides"?!? It's like something that a brainwashed fool in a cult might say. Now that I think of it, "environmental activists" are very much like a cult. They worship "Nature" and are perfectly willing to put forestry workers' lives at risk in order to prevent a tree from being cut down, or ruin the livelihood of farmers to save a few sucker fish. Maybe could best be described as "Greenwashed". . .
OK, so I've finally decided to vent some of the frustration that's been building up inside me for a long time. Hopefully, I'll be doing this on a semi-regular basis from here on out.
John Stossel, a prominent Libertarian investigative reporter at ABC known for his provocative 'Give Me a Break' segment on 20/20, is currently under fire for an upcoming special "Tampering with Nature", due to air this Friday at 10e/9c. I absolutely love Stossel's reports, even on the rare occasions when I disagree with him, for the simple reason that he tells a part of the story that nobody else in the television media ever does. If you aren't familiar with Stossel, the names of some of his reports might give you an idea of what he stands for:
Anyway, Stossel's upcoming special is currently being actively attacked by the likes of the Environmental Working Group, a far left wing 'green' political lobby out of Washington, D.C. EWG had attacked Stossel for an earlier report on organic food, due to an error in reporting on one of the studies mentioned in the report. After the inadvertent error, EWG called on ABC to fire Stossel. In the end, Stossel apologized for the mistake on air, but kept his job. Now EWG is after him again. They contacted a number of parents who had previously given permission for their children to appear on "Tampering with Nature", and managed to convince a few of these parents to withdraw their consent, with the special scheduled to air in less than a week. The parents, it is claimed, said that "they were misled about the nature of the show, and would never have granted permission for their children to be interviewed had the nature of the program - or Stossel's involvement - been known to them." The translation of this into actual english is that these parents assumed that their kids would be used in a typical fluff piece on the environment, and when they discovered that the kids' clearly biased education would be used as an argument for an opposing viewpoint, they wanted it suppressed.
This is so typical of the way the left wing in this country advances its agenda. Freedom of Speech, as long as the speech agrees with me! God forbid that an opposing viewpoint gain legitimacy by airing in a prime time news report. We are constantly barraged by anecdotal 'evidence' of 'global warming' and the destruction of the environment in the media, but when was the last time you saw a report on counter-evidence of 'global warming'? It shocks most people to hear that such counter-evidence even exists, and it is even more shocking to here that there are a substantial number of scientist, specializing in the field of heat transfer, who doubt that the 'phenomenon' exists at all. Heck, twenty years ago the prevailing scientific opinion was that we were heading for a new ice age. So here we have a lone voice out there trying to give a little time to the other side, and the left calls for his job, and uses underhanded tactics to kill his report at the eleventh hour. Typical. But I guess when the facts aren't on your side, your only option is to make sure that the facts don't get heard at all.
