Brief Biography
I was
born
on January 15, 1965 in
Los Angeles,
California, USA. I spent most of my childhood in Denver, Colorado,
before returning to the Golden State for school. I graduated from
Caltech
in 1986 with a Bachelors Degree in
Engineering and Applied
Science. From there I traveled north to
Stanford, where I completed my
Masters Degree and Doctorate in Aeronautics and Astronautics. After
graduating I worked at
NASA Ames Research Center.
Growing tired of rocket science, I took at job working on software for
mechanical engineers at
Parametric Technology Corporation.
For the last five years I have worked for a bunch of startup companies,
and still I am not wealthier than Bill Gates. Go figure. I have recently
lived in Pasadena,
Santa Monica,
Pasadena again,
and San Diego.
One of the more interesting places I've worked is
Luxtera, Inc, a company
that is making the world's first CMOS photonics chips.
As of December 2005, I am working here.
These days I live in scenic
San Mateo, CA.
Outside of work my biggest accomplishment was running the
1996 San Francisco
Marathon!
