HTML/ HTML version of the paper INSTALLING ---------- 1) Get the archive "esfields.zip" The Field Expert homepage is at http://www.alumni.caltech.edu/~muresan/projects/esfields 2) Unpack the archive This will create a directory FIELDEXP; it should contain all files listed above in the FILES section. RUNNING ------- 1) Start the program (FIELDEXP.EXE) 2) Once up and running, the program will display information about how to use it. Click OK to put the dialog box away; you can review the instructions later using the Help menu. The principle is simple: click right mouse button to add charges to the field configuration or to modify charges; click left mouse button to draw field lines. Menus offer more options.
