Postcard from Hong Kong
I made a week-end trip from Taiwan to Hong Kong in May of 1997, in order
to see the place once more before it went under Beijing's rule. Mei-Ling,
who is my favorite companion and Chinese teacher, went with me. Here are
some snapshots:

In addition to its vigorous business environment, Hong Kong is a marvelously
rich and varied cultural environment. Hong Kong is not so well known for
its natural environment, but twenty minutes out of the central district,
it is easy to find world-class beaches and coastal scenery. Lonely Planet's
Hong Kong, Macau
& Guangzhou gives a terrific overview of Hong Kong.
