The following links take you to my favorite Audio Websites.
- Madrigal Audio Laboratories
- Makers of (what I consider to be) the best D/A converters on the market. I positively
love my No.36 DAC.
- Wilson Audio Specialties
- David Wilson is one of the most respected high-end speaker manufacturers around. His speakers
are indeed quite fantastic, but they should be for this price. (Check out the $147,000
WAMM, which David Wilson
personally installs into your home. (He'd better buy you dinner, too, for that much...)
- Audio Research Corporation
- A tube amp/preamp/digital manufacturer of which I am quite fond. Levinson digital + ARC preamp/amp =
heaven.
- HDCD Homepage
- The homepage of the emmy-award-nomination technology of High Definition Compatible Digital, developed
by Reference Recordings' very own Keith O. Johnson. A digital encoding process which makes HDCD compact
disc sound better on normal CD players and absolutely incredible (dare I say close to LP?) on a HDCD
capable player (like the 36). Also maintains a list of all HDCD recordings.
- THX Homepage
- Homepage of the great THX programs by LucasArts/Digital(/World). Online listings of all THX-approved
home theater equipment, all THX-approved theaters in the world (searchable), and some info about the
messiah known as the THX LaserDisc Program.
- DTS Homepage
- Purveyors of fine home theater processing technology (aka, die Dolby D*g*tal, die!). Forget
L+R, L-R, L*R, L/R, and whatever else Dolby does, DTS is true 5.1 independent audio
streams. The site offers the latest releases and news of DTS licencees.
