Go in the Los Angeles Area
I resurrected this page on Sept. 9, 1997, from a cached copy of
Rich Messenger's pages. He is no longer active in the go community,
and no longer has net access. Please excuse the formatting and
somewhat dated information. Please contact me (rdv@alumni.caltech.edu) if
you have new information to be added.

Go Classes in the L.A. Area
Here is a list of the regular classes in go in the Los Angeles area
given by Yi-lun
Yang, a 7 dan professional go player from China who lives in L.A.
(he can be reached via the e-mail address yly@netcom.com). The locations are
listed in the Go clubs in the L.A. area
page.
- Every Sunday afternoon from 3pm to 5pm at the
L.A. Go Club in
Koreatown. Cost is $5. Mr. Yang usually lectures on a pro game
(often one of his own), stopping frequently to challenge the
students to find the next move, explaining proper thinking along
the way.
- The second Saturday of each month from 1pm to 3pm at the
South Bay Kiin
in Gardena (South Bay). They ask for a $10 donation from non-club
members. Mr. Yang plays three simultaneous games
(an extra $5) then reviews them in a lecture format, with
specific suggestions for becoming stronger.
