Dabney Biographical Information

This material comes from a few sheets of biographical information on Joseph B. Dabney which were in the box of historical documents that were once in the possession of the Dabney House president. There were many other documents in the box; most were relevant to House history.

I copied this information in 1981 in response to a request from a Dabney descendant. While taking the weekly Saturday tour of Big Bear Solar Observatory she noticed my house mug filled with sun tea. At her request I procured a house mug for her, and before delivering it to her the house president let me see the house documents. Would that I had copied all of them.

3x5 cards

There were some index cards which appeared to be a transcription of a 1932 L.A. Times obituary.

Dabney survivors note

A short note from 1963 listing then living Dabney relations.

Development Office memo

The final page was a memo from the institute president in 1974 apparently to the director of the development office. Its content may indicate the origin of all the rest of the material.
