The 1997 California Morris Ale

April 25-27

This year the annual gathering of some 200 English ritual dancers and musicians will be held in the redwoods and beaches of Santa Cruz County, California. We celebrate the coming of spring in the centuries-old fashion of the English countryside.

Here is a detailed list of times and locations where the public can come to see scores of morris dancers as they tour through Santa Cruz county.
Participating Teams
Some 180 dancers and musicians from 16 west coast teams are attending VirtuAle.
What is a Morris Ale?
Ales and morris dancing are older than the Tudor dynasty in England.
