The paddle, as it now stands. The shaft is Sitka Spruce, as is the lighter wood on the paddle blades. The darker wood on the blades is cedar. The blades are "feathered" or twisted 70-degrees relative to one another. They are spooned (curved), and I'm trying also to provide at least some dihedral to prevent flutter. The clumsy-looking rectangular blades will be cut into a graceful asymmetric pattern once I finish shaping the blade faces. The shaft is hollow, and has an oval cross-section. The plans for the paddle also come from Nick Schade.
